Overview
Before layoffs at Playful Studios, I contributed to Wildcard by designing prototypes for the front-end and deck builder. I incorporated feedback from interviews, created wireframes to test layouts, and developed a UX design strategy to streamline the gameβs UI development.

Background
While at Playful, I focused mainly on a hero-based arena PVP digital collectible card game with a robust deck builder. My primary role was driving UX design, with some involvement in creating style mocks for visual design.

Research
Process
Insights & Analysis:
I performed and documented a detailed analysis of deck builders.
After finding commonalities and determining the pros and cons of various systems from player and designer interviews, I designed several options to test with the team.
Design
Wireframes, Flowcharts & Prototyping:
I iterated on a few designs for the deck builder, designing several wireframes to test different layouts, mappings, and scenarios.
Made several prototypes in XD for stakeholders to use when providing feedback.

Style Mocks:
Before the layoffs, we didnβt get far into the UI visual development process. Although I wasnβt the UI Artist on the project, I contributed by quickly creating some rough style mocks to aid in the discussion.
Design Strategies
UX Dev Pipeline & Team Comp:
While at Playful, I started developing what I considered, at the time, to be an ideal UX Design pipeline for game development.
I included lanes for various roles and loosely scheduled when specific roles should execute certain methodologies.
