Background

This project involved remastering areas of AdventureQuest Worlds, a popular browser-based MMORPG, with the goal of modernizing its UI/UX while maintaining its unique, charming aesthetic. As part of the design team, I contributed to research, design, visual development, and implementation.

Design

Process

  • Advocated for deploying various UXD methodologies to craft interfaces for new and existing games, emphasizing their potential impact on project success.

  • Documented and proposed strategies based on my web development experience, aiming to implement HCI design principles in future projects.

  • Developed UX and brand strategies to define target demographics and create engaging brand/game experiences tailored to those demographics.

  • Created several scenario-based animatics in Flash for new titles to ensure seamless flow and gather adequate feedback before production.

Web Dev

I designed and helped develop several of the studio's websites.

  • Main website, artix.com (no longer active),

  • Websites for several new games

  • The studio’s store, Hero Mart

  • Customer support site.

Vis Dev

  • Created many style mocks, art comps, and UI components for various projects and games,

  • Updated UI visuals for AdventureQuest Worlds and worked on Battle Gems vis dev.
